Reverend Houston accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age. While at Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Philadelphia PA, under the leadership of Pastor James S. Hall Jr. At age 7 he was baptized. He served on the Sunbeam Choir, Usher Board, and as a Junior Deacon.
He attended Ben Franklin High School in Philadelphia, PA, and went to Delaware State College on a football scholarship, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He attended Lancaster Bible College obtaining credits in Old Testaments and Hebrew Language. He obtained his Master’s Degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary. Capstone project in Theology.
In the early 1990’s he joined the Brightside Baptist Church in Lancaster, PA where the pastor and organizer was Louis A. Butcher Jr. At that time, he rededicated his life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He served as president and chaplain of numerous auxiliaries.
In 1996 he began walking as a Deacon. In 1999 he was ordained as a Deacon. After receiving the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, He preached his trial sermon on Jan.27, 2002. He served as Assistant to the Pastor before being called to pastor First Baptist Church of Temple, PA. Reverend Houston is and has been employed by the United States Department of Agriculture for over 37 years when he retired in November 2021. Reverend Houston serves as the Reading Area Moderator of the Central Baptist Association.
He served having a monthly street ministry titled The Prayer Center, outside, in center city Lancaster, PA. also ministering on the streets in New York city with other Evangelists. Many souls have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior through this outreach ministry.
Reverend Houston is and has been married to the lovely Mrs. Pristilla Houston since August 23, 1980. They have been together since 1973. God has blessed them with four children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
One of his favorite Old Testament scriptures is Jer. 29:13 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all of your heart”. Rev. Houston now lives by Galatian 2:20; “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”.
